WARNING: May contain spoilers
The Sullivan sisters have a big problem. On Christmas Day their rich and imperious grandmother gathers the family and announces that she will soon die . . .and has cut the entire family out of her will. Since she is the source of almost all their income, this means they will soon be penniless.
Someone in the family has offended her deeply. If that person comes forward with a confession of her (or his) crime, submitted in writing to her lawyer by New Year's Day, she will reinstate the family in her will. Or at least consider it.
My first thought about this book was wow... These girls have odd names. Jane not so much, but Norrie and Sassy. Not to mention the guys, St. John, Sully and Takey.
Once I got past the names, the book was actually a very fun light read! It is written through letters that the girls each write to their grandmother, Almighty Lou, to confess their "sins" after she threatens to take away their inheritance.
I have to say that out of the three, I liked Jane's letter the most, and I found it most relatable, as she (a bit unnecessarily) moaned and whined about her family, but in the end she really did love them.
Though it is never specifically stated which confession Almighty was looking for (unless I missed something), I believe it was most likely Sassy's. What do you think?
Until next time,
Athena xoxo
